๐Ÿ™Œ๐ŸŽ‰  Las Vegas to Celebrate Lunar New Year with AAPI Chamber Festivities

The Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Chamber is set to host two Lunar New Year celebrations in the Las Vegas Valley, marking the occasion with vibrant festivities. The first event is scheduled for Saturday at UnCommons, featuring a night market with a diverse array of vendors, food trucks, and an anime market, alongside cultural performances including a Lion dance at 8:45 p.m. This celebration is notable for being the first Lunar New Year event in the southwest valley, home to 40% of the area's Asian American and Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander population.

The festivities continue on Sunday at Chinatown Plaza, highlighted by a Lion dance at 6:30 p.m. and a spectacular dragon drone show at 7:30 p.m. Both days offer family-friendly activities such as a kids corner with paper lantern and dumpling making classes, ensuring an engaging experience for attendees of all ages.

๐Ÿ’ฒ Las Vegas Convention Center to Host Major Spring Job Fair Event

Southern Nevada job seekers have the opportunity to meet with over 120 employers at the upcoming Spring Job Fair, scheduled for March 8 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Las Vegas Convention Center West Hall. Hosted by Clark County in collaboration with the EmployNV Business Hub, this annual event aims to facilitate on-the-spot hiring and job offers pending background checks. Commissioner Jim Gibson encourages attendees to approach the fair as they would a multi-employer interview, emphasizing that every employer present is looking to hire. Notable employers include the Rio hotel-casino, Nevada Barricade and Sign Co., Maverik, The Smith Center, Tao Group Hospitality, Fontainebleau hotel-casino, and Link Technologies. Job seekers can register in advance, upload their resumes for employer previews, and access several on-site resources such as free child care for specific ages, career coaching, and career exploration tools.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿˆ Panthers Avenger Regular Season Defeat with Semifinal Win Over Desert Oasis

Palo Verde's flag football team overcame a previous defeat to Desert Oasis with a 27-13 victory in the Class 5A state semifinal, led by standout performances from Tia Brown and quarterback Jordan Katz. Brown's interceptions and touchdown run, alongside Katz's scoring drives, reversed a regular-season loss into a playoff triumph. The Panthers now advance to face defending champions Shadow Ridge in the state title game. This win follows a series of competitive matchups across various classes in both flag football and basketball, highlighting the intense battles and individual talents shaping Nevada's high school sports landscape.
