๐ŸŒ‰ Tropicana Avenue Bridge Reopens with Updated Diverging Diamond Interchange

The Tropicana Avenue bridge over Interstate 15 in Las Vegas is set to reopen Tuesday morning, reintroducing the diverging diamond interchange (DDI) lane system. This reopening follows a temporary removal of the DDI for a standard lane setup to accommodate Super Bowl traffic to and from the resort corridor and Allegiant Stadium. After the game, the bridge was closed for six days to dismantle the Super Bowl lane configuration and reinstate the DDI on the newly completed north half of the bridge.

The update is part of the ongoing $305 million I-15-Tropicana project aimed at improving traffic flow and safety. The project, which began in 2022, is expected to be completed in 2025. The south half of the bridge, where the initial DDI was implemented since February 2023, has been demolished as part of Dropicana 2.0. This demolition included a full weekend closure of I-15 between Flamingo and Russell roads.

With the bridge's reopening, the I-15 southbound off-ramp to Tropicana, both east and westbound, and the Tropicana eastbound and westbound on-ramp to I-15 northbound will be accessible to traffic. However, several ramps will remain closed, including the Tropicana east-and-westbound on-ramp to I-15 southbound and the I-15 northbound off-ramp to Tropicana, among others.

This phase of the project marks the start of phase 3, leading to the final phase 4 expected to begin in the fall. The project's completion will see the Tropicana stretch widened from three to four lanes in both directions between Las Vegas Boulevard and Polaris Avenue, among other significant improvements aimed at enhancing pedestrian and vehicular traffic flow.

๐ŸŽฐ Mark Tricano Exits Fontainebleau to Rejoin Station Casinos as Senior VP

Mark Tricano, the former president of the newly opened Fontainebleau resort on the Las Vegas Strip, has transitioned to a senior vice president of operations role at Station Casinos. Tricano's departure comes after approximately seven months of leadership at Fontainebleau, including overseeing its opening and initial weeks of operation. Station Casinos welcomes Tricano back, highlighting his extensive experience and operational expertise as a significant asset to their team.

During his tenure at Fontainebleau, valued at $3.7 billion, Tricano played a crucial role up to its launch in mid-December and the initial phase of operations. Following a leadership reshuffle, Maurice Wooden, a former executive at Wynn, took over as president of Fontainebleau in late January, leading to Tricano assuming a new, unspecified position within the company.

Fontainebleau expressed gratitude towards Tricano for his contributions to the resort's successful opening and wished him well in his future endeavors. This marks Tricano's return to Station Casinos, where he previously managed the Red Rock hotel-casino from 2012 to 2015, before his roles at Galaxy Entertainment Corp. and other notable positions in the hospitality and gaming industry.

๐Ÿ’ Golden Knights Face Setback with Third Home Loss and Injury to Captain Stone

The Vegas Golden Knights experienced a third consecutive home defeat, losing 5-3 to the Nashville Predators at T-Mobile Arena on Tuesday. The match's outcome was overshadowed by an injury to Golden Knights captain Mark Stone, who sustained an upper-body injury and was absent for the third period, with no immediate update on his condition from Coach Bruce Cassidy.

Despite an early lead, the Knights trailed 4-1 by the end of the second period, even with Stone's participation. Nashville's lead was established early by Cody Glass and extended with two additional goals in the second period. The Golden Knights attempted a comeback with goals from William Karlsson and Michael Amadio in the third period, narrowing the gap to 4-3. However, a final empty-net goal by the Predators' Gustav Nyquist sealed the victory for Nashville.

Notably, defenseman Shea Theodore returned from an extended injury absence, contributing with an assist and showing promising performance on the ice. Despite adjustments to the team's lineup by Cassidy and a notable effort by the Knights, Nashville's early momentum and strategic gameplay led to their win, highlighting areas for improvement for the Knights.

๐Ÿฆนโ€โ™‚๏ธ Las Vegas Judge Orders Release of FBI Informant in Biden Bribery Allegation Case

Alexander Smirnov, a 43-year-old FBI informant charged with lying about a purported bribery scheme involving President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden, was ordered released under electronic monitoring by a federal judge in Las Vegas. Smirnov faces charges of making a false statement to federal agents and was arrested at Harry Reid International Airport. Despite prosecutors' concerns about his flight risk due to alleged ties to foreign intelligence, including Russia, U.S. Magistrate Judge Daniel Albregts emphasized the need for Smirnov to comply with strict release conditions, including employment seeking and restricted travel.

Prosecutors claim Smirnov falsely implicated the Bidens in receiving $5 million each from Ukrainian energy company Burisma during Joe Biden's vice presidency. They also highlighted Smirnov's substantial financial resources and contacts with Russian intelligence. However, his defense attorneys argue that he poses no flight risk, citing his long-term residence in the U.S. and lack of criminal history. The case has stirred political tensions, with the defense suggesting the charges are politically motivated, a claim scrutinized during the proceedings.
