🏒 Vegas Golden Knights to Face Dallas Stars in Playoff Opener After Tough Loss

The Vegas Golden Knights concluded their regular season with a 4-1 loss to the Anaheim Ducks at T-Mobile Arena, positioning them as the second wild card in the Western Conference. Despite a hopeful start, the Ducks dominated the match, with Anaheim's goalie Lukas Dostal delivering a stellar performance, making 32 saves. Knights' center Jack Eichel managed to score the only goal for his team.

In a simultaneous match, the Los Angeles Kings won over their opponent in overtime, thus determining that the Knights will face the Dallas Stars in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, a rematch of last season’s Western Conference Final which the Knights won.

The playoffs are set to begin with Game 1 at 6:30 p.m. on Monday in Dallas. Despite the recent loss, the Knights finished the season with 98 points. They look forward to the playoffs with a mix of optimism and practical awareness of the challenges ahead.

🏢 La Côte Opens at Fontainebleau Las Vegas, Offering Exclusive Riviera-Style Dining

La Côte, a new restaurant at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas, brings a slice of the French Riviera to the Las Vegas Strip with its latest culinary venture. Situated by the poolside on the expansive 6-acre Oasis Pool Deck, La Côte mirrors its Miami Beach counterpart, offering a distinct blend of French-Mediterranean cuisine under the soothing ambiance of nautical themes and natural lighting.

The restaurant is exclusively open to hotel guests, providing a serene and exclusive dining experience reminiscent of Saint-Tropez. Executive Chef Francisco Campa Fuentes crafts a variety of dishes that cater to both breakfast and lunch crowds, featuring selections such as a fruit plate with seasonal selections, an egg white frittata, mezze with baba ganoush and hummus, harissa butter shrimp, and grilled kebabs.

La Côte’s beverage program is robust, boasting approximately 120 wines with a strong focus on rosés, alongside signature cocktails like the La Côte Piscine, which is a mix of Whispering Angel rosé with Giffard Lichi-Li Liqueur, and the Goldfinger cocktail made with Rémy Martin VSOP.

The Oasis Pool Deck, hosting La Côte, includes seven pools, multiple bars, the daylife spot LIV Beach, and a gaming area, all inspired by various iconic designs and eras, from Roberto Burle Marx's landscapes to Googie architecture.

La Côte operates daily and offers private dining options and the ability for a full-venue buyout for special events. For more information, interested parties can visit the Fontainebleau Las Vegas website.

🎰 Governor Lombardo Appoints Abbi Silver to Nevada Gaming Commission as Ogonna Brown Steps Down

Retired Nevada Supreme Court Justice Abbi Silver has been appointed to the Nevada Gaming Commission, replacing Commissioner Ogonna Brown. Brown announced her decision to step down after declining reappointment for another four-year term during the latest commission meeting. Governor Joe Lombardo praised Silver as a visionary and expressed confidence in her abilities to enhance the commission's work.

Justice Silver's judicial career is notable; she is the only judge in Nevada's history to have been elected to every level of the state’s court system. She began her judicial journey on the Las Vegas Municipal Court in 2003 and ascended through various courts, ultimately serving as the chief justice for the Northern Nevada Panel of the Supreme Court. Governor Lombardo's appointment marks Silver's first foray into state-level gaming regulation, a role she expressed gratitude and enthusiasm for.

Commissioner Brown, appointed by Governor Steve Sisolak in 2020, cited a heavy workload at her law firm as her reason for not accepting another term. Control Board Chairman Kirk Hendrick commended Brown's service to the state at the conclusion of the meeting.
