☁ Stormy Weather in Las Vegas Results in Power Outages and Traffic Issues

Friday in the Las Vegas Valley witnessed fluctuating weather conditions, starting with gentle rain in the morning which intensified by early afternoon, and concluded with evening showers. Notable variations in precipitation were recorded across different areas, ranging from 0.04 inches in some parts to as much as 1.4 inches in the mountains on the southern edge of Henderson.
Storm activity was particularly heavy in the afternoon around Henderson, causing significant runoff and even reports of hail or graupel, according to the National Weather Service meteorologist Chris Outler. Wind gusts reached up to 45 mph in the northeast parts of the valley.
The weather disturbances affected local infrastructure, with the Regional Traffic Commission reporting downed power lines at Sunset Road and Arroyo Grande in the early afternoon. The Nevada Highway Patrol also responded to 14 property damage incidents and three injury-related crashes between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., highlighting the hazardous driving conditions.
The weather service, which had anticipated a 60% chance of rain or thunderstorms for the day, advised drivers to reduce speeds significantly during rainy conditions to avoid hydroplaning and ensure safety due to slick roads.
Despite the day's tumultuous weather, conditions were expected to clear by Saturday morning, with the weekend forecast promising clear or mostly clear skies and high temperatures around 79 and 82 degrees respectively.

🏒Golden Knights Aim to Capitalize on Home Advantage in Game 3 Against Stars

The Vegas Golden Knights are gearing up for a crucial Game 3 in their playoff series against the Dallas Stars, bringing the action home to T-Mobile Arena this Saturday. Following their initial victories in Dallas, the Knights are well-positioned to take a commanding lead in the series.
The series so far has not been dominated by either side, but the Knights have capitalized on critical moments. Their defense played a pivotal role in their previous game, overcoming the Stars’ aggressive plays with solid strategy and timely goals, leading to a 3-1 victory in Game 2.
Brett Howden of the Golden Knights emphasized the importance of their approach: "We don’t want to look too far ahead. We just want to take it one day at a time." This mindset has served them well, particularly given the electric atmosphere expected at T-Mobile Arena — voted the toughest venue for visiting teams in this year’s NHL Players’ Association poll.
The Golden Knights have a strong track record at home, with a 31-15 win record since their inception. Coach Bruce Cassidy highlighted the need for disciplined gameplay, focusing on effective puck management and making plays as opportunities arise, rather than getting carried away by the home crowd's energy.
The team hopes to replicate their home success from last postseason, where they went 9-3, and seize the opportunity to potentially secure an early series win against the top-seeded Stars.

🍔 In-N-Out's Secret Menu Exposed: From Flying Dutchman to Protein Style

If you're a fan of In-N-Out Burger, exploring their Secret Menu might just be your next delicious adventure. Here's a deeper dive into some of the unique offerings you can find:
Gorilla Style/Monkey Style: Not officially recognized by In-N-Out staff, this creation involves stuffing Animal Style fries (fries with cheese, spread, and grilled onions) between your burger patties. To avoid confusion, you might have to DIY this concoction at your table by ordering the items separately.
Scooby Snack: Ideal for a light appetite, the Scooby Snack at In-N-Out is simply a single grilled beef patty. Named after the cartoon character's favorite treat, it's more of a snack than a meal.
Flying Dutchman: This menu item strips down to the basics — two beef patties with two slices of melted cheese in between, no buns, no lettuce. For a twist, you can request it "Animal Style," which adds pickles, extra spread, and grilled onions on the side, letting you customize the burger at your table.
Beyond these intriguing options, the Secret Menu at In-N-Out includes various modifications and combinations that cater to all tastes:
Animal Style Burger: A burger upgraded with an extra mustard-cooked patty, hand-leafed lettuce, tomato, pickles, and grilled onions.
3x3 and 4x4: These burgers increase the meat and cheese count, offering three or four patties with corresponding slices of cheese, respectively.
Neapolitan Shake: A delightful blend of chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry ice cream flavors in one shake.
Protein Style: For those avoiding carbs, this option serves any burger wrapped in lettuce instead of a bun.
In-N-Out’s Secret Menu allows patrons to enjoy a variety of unique and personalized food experiences, extending far beyond what's listed on the standard menu. Whether you're looking for a massive meaty burger or a simple cheesy treat, there's something to satisfy your cravings in a fun and customized way.

💲 Tesla Slashes Workforce in Nevada Following Downturn in Sales

Tesla is set to lay off nearly 700 employees at its Gigafactory in Sparks, Nevada, as part of a broader initiative to slash costs and boost productivity. The layoffs, affecting 693 workers, were announced after a noticeable 9% drop in the company's car sales from the first quarter of last year to the first quarter of this year.
This decision is part of Tesla's plan to reduce its global workforce by 10%, impacting approximately 14,000 of its 140,473 employees. According to recent reports, the layoffs will also affect 3,300 workers in California and 2,700 in Tesla's Austin facility.
The Gigafactory, which has been a significant part of Northern Nevada’s economy since its opening in 2016, employs about 12,000 people. The facility is known for producing lithium-ion batteries and electric vehicle components. This move comes as Tesla aims to navigate through tough economic times, marked by recent product recalls and price cuts on several of its models.
