📶 Major Wireless Carriers Settle for $10 Million with Nevada Over Deceptive Ads

Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford announced a substantial settlement with several major wireless carriers including AT&T Mobility, Cricket Wireless, T-Mobile USA, Cellco Partnership (doing business as Verizon Wireless), and TracFone. The settlement, involving a total of 50 jurisdictions, amounts to $10.25 million and addresses deceptive advertising practices that misled consumers in Nevada.

The legal action stemmed from issues related to advertisements promising "unlimited" data, "free" phone offers, and incentives for consumers to switch networks, which were found to be misleading due to undisclosed limitations and conditions. As a result of the settlement, these carriers are now required to clearly disclose any material terms and limitations in their future advertising, ensuring transparency for consumers.

Additionally, the settlement mandates that the carriers appoint a dedicated employee to liaise with the attorneys general to address consumer complaints, train customer service representatives to comply with these new standards, and enforce a compliance program.

This agreement not only brings millions of dollars into Nevada but also aims to prevent future misrepresentations by these companies, safeguarding consumer interests and promoting fair business practices.

🏈 Jackson Powers-Johnson Embraces Raider Nation as a Childhood Dream Fulfilled

Jackson Powers-Johnson, the recent Raiders draft pick and burgeoning offensive lineman, has a deep-rooted connection to the team he's long admired. His journey to the NFL seems almost predestined, with early childhood memories featuring Raiders fandom prominently in his family's home and his first-ever NFL game. Now, as he dons the Raiders colors, Powers-Johnson feels a profound alignment with the team's passionate and intense fanbase—a perfect match for his own style of play.

Growing up in Utah and honing his skills at Oregon, Powers-Johnson recalls being drawn to football not just for the sport but as a means to channel his physicality positively, transforming the challenges of his youth into protective instincts on the field. His approach to the game is deeply influenced by a sense of duty and honor, qualities he equates to those serving in the armed forces.

As Powers-Johnson steps into the Raiders' facilities, ready to protect quarterbacks and clear paths, he is driven by a newfound purpose—fulfilling his childhood dream while setting sights on new goals. For him, wearing the Raiders' logo is not just about personal achievement but also about contributing to the legacy of a storied franchise.

🎶 At 80, Mick Jagger Energizes Las Vegas with Unstoppable Show

Mick Jagger, at 80 years old, continues to shatter expectations of what an aging rock star can do. Last Saturday night at Allegiant Stadium, the iconic frontman of the Rolling Stones proved that age is just a number with a high-energy performance that kept the massive crowd on its feet. Jagger, known for hits like “Time is on my side,” showcased his legendary stage presence by running, gyrating, and engaging the audience with the same fervor he did decades ago.

The concert, part of the Stones' tour promoting their new album “Hackney Diamonds,” also featured classic tracks and a special performance of Bob Dylan’s “Like a Rolling Stone,” a nod to the band's deep musical roots and historical impact. Notably, the tour is co-sponsored by AARP, underscoring the band's appeal to a demographic that has grown alongside them.

Jagger’s appearance at local favorite Piero’s Italian Cuisine the night before the show highlighted his enduring charm and connection to Las Vegas, a city he noted for its vibrant entertainment scene. With performances from other age-defying artists like Carlos Santana and upcoming stars like Justin Timberlake in town, Jagger's show was a testament to the timeless appeal of rock and roll.

Whether this tour marks the finale for the Stones in Vegas or not, Mick Jagger and his bandmates continue to leave an indelible mark on the music world, proving that some things, like their music, only get better with age.

💊 Henderson Police Seize Over 200,000 Fentanyl Pills in Drug Sting

A Clark County grand jury has indicted three men, Jesus Aguayo Jr., David Alexander Estrada, and Ulyses Augurio Lopez-Vazquez, on charges related to trafficking nearly 45 pounds of fentanyl. The arrests were part of a sting operation conducted by the Henderson Police Department outside Sunset Station in the early hours of August 27.

During the operation, officers seized approximately 213,000 counterfeit pills resembling oxycodone tablets from the trunk of a Dodge Charger occupied by the suspects. The pills, identified as "M30s," are alleged to have originated from Mexico and were en route to Henderson via Arizona. Each of the suspects has posted a $20,000 bail following their arrest.

This case highlights the ongoing fentanyl crisis, with the DEA reporting a surge in overdose deaths, including nearly 60,000 in 2023 linked to the potent opioid. The authorities have emphasized the importance of removing these dangerous substances from the streets to prevent further tragedies.
