🚗 Boring Company's Vegas Loop Reaches Virgin Hotels Las Vegas

The Boring Company has reached Virgin Hotels Las Vegas with its latest tunnel as part of the Vegas Loop expansion. This tunnel, which began last month, is part of the University Center Drive loop, starting near UNLV on land bought by the Boring Company for $7.1 million. The loop will extend to the Silver Lot at the Las Vegas Convention Center, making Virgin and Paradise stations the furthest offshoots from the center.

A short loop is already operational between the convention center and Resorts World, with more stations under development. The University Center loop will feature two tunnels, expected to have at least one operational by April 2025, according to LVCVA President Steve Hill. The proximity of the Paradise station to Harry Reid International Airport may allow for airport rides. The Virgin station is also strategically located for events like the Las Vegas Grand Prix.

The Vegas Loop aims to have 93 stations and 68 miles of tunnels, stretching from Blue Diamond Road to the Mob Museum downtown, including key stops like the Arts District and Chinatown. Rides between convention center halls are currently free, but the new tunnels will require a fee.

👩🏀 Alysha Clark and Kate Martin Form Strong Bond on Las Vegas Aces

Alysha Clark and rookie Kate Martin have formed a special bond on the Las Vegas Aces. During a recent press conference, Clark humorously acknowledged Martin as her favorite rookie. Martin, who made her WNBA debut with three points, five rebounds, and three assists in a win over the Los Angeles Sparks, has drawn comparisons to Clark by coach Becky Hammon due to the intangible qualities they bring to the team.

Clark has taken Martin under her wing, much like Martin did with Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark during their time at Iowa. Martin and Caitlin Clark, who became best friends, will face off for the first time as professionals this Saturday at Michelob Ultra Arena.

Martin's journey to the WNBA was challenging. After redshirting her freshman year due to a knee injury, she watched senior All-American Megan Gustafson lead Iowa to the Elite Eight. Martin's competitive spirit and hard work earned her respect from Caitlin Clark, leading to a close friendship. Despite a tough college career, Martin was drafted by the Aces in 2024 and made the roster of the back-to-back champions. Caitlin Clark praised Martin for her leadership and versatility, expressing a wish that they were still teammates.
