๐ฉ๐ Las Vegas Aces Release Second-Round Draft Pick Dyaisha Fair
The Las Vegas Aces waived rookie guard Dyaisha Fair, who was selected in the second round of Aprilโs WNBA draft with the 16th overall pick. Fair, a former Syracuse guard, debuted in Saturdayโs 99-80 win over the Indiana Fever, recording two assists. Despite her impressive collegiate scoring record, Fair did not secure a place on the roster due to the team's need for defensive improvement and her limited experience in the point guard position. The Aces now face a decision on how to fill the open roster spot, potentially addressing their current issues with bench depth and heavy workloads on key players like Jackie Young.

๐ฐ IRS Advisory Council Recommends Raising Slot Machine Jackpot Reporting Threshold
Recent reports suggest that the IRS Advisory Council has recommended raising the threshold for reportable slot machine jackpots from $1,200 to $5,800. This adjustment, considering inflation since the threshold was set in 1977, aims to reduce administrative burdens on players and casinos and streamline IRS operations. While the recommendation is promising, skepticism remains about its implementation without legislative support. Representative Dina Titus has been a long-time advocate for this change, introducing bipartisan legislation to adjust the threshold, but success has yet to be realized.
