A suspect, identified as Rachel Maria Terranova, a 27-year-old resident of Las Vegas, has been apprehended by the Nevada State Police a month after a fatal hit-and-run incident occurred on the 215 Beltway in Summerlin. The arrest took place on Thursday, and Terranova has been subsequently booked into the Clark County Detention Center.
The collision, which resulted in the death of a pedestrian, occurred in the early morning hours of April 28, approximately at 5 a.m., near the intersection of 215 and the Summerlin Parkway off-ramp and Far Hills on-ramp. The victim, Darrel Redhawk Pingleton, a 35-year-old resident of Alpine, California, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Clark County coroner's office.
Following the incident, authorities managed to locate the Honda Civic believed to have been involved in the crash at a body shop in Pahrump. The vehicle was a critical piece of evidence that led to the identification and subsequent arrest of the suspect.
