Miller Moss, in his second collegiate start, led No. 23 USC to a dramatic 27-20 victory over No. 13 Louisiana State at the Vegas Kickoff Classic on Sunday. 🎰 Nevada Casino Tax Collections Surpass Forecasts Despite Recent Decline
Nevada’s casino tax revenue exceeded expectations in the 2024 fiscal year, with collections totaling over $1.23 billion, a 4.75% increase from the previous year and 4.8% higher than projected. This growth was largely driven by taxes on gross gaming revenue, which contributed nearly $997.7 million, up 3% year-over-year.
However, the start of fiscal year 2025 has seen a dip, with collections down by $27 million, or 13.1%, in the first two months, attributed to the volatility of casino games and a slight decrease in summer visitation. The state forecasts over $1.1 billion in casino-related taxes and fees for the entire fiscal year 2025.
Despite the early downturn, Nevada's gaming revenue for the first half of 2024 was still higher than the same period in 2023, showing a 3.4% increase.
