🎨 Arttherapy Cafe: Where Creativity and Healing Come Together in Downtown Las Vegas
The heavily tinted and understated storefront in downtown Las Vegas might make it hard to tell what’s happening inside, but within the walls of Arttherapy Cafe and Gallery, something profoundly healing is unfolding.
This unique space is the brainchild of artist Leah Devora, who has dedicated her work to promoting wellness through creative expression. Through art workshops, she offers attendees a therapeutic outlet to process their turmoil, trauma, or personal struggles. Inside the gallery, participants can find solace in painting, using creativity as a means to cope with emotional and physical challenges.
Arttherapy Cafe and Gallery is more than just a space to admire artwork; it's a sanctuary where creativity and healing intersect. Devora, who lives with multiple sclerosis, believes deeply in the power of art to serve as a coping mechanism. “I’m really into using art as a way to manage life's difficulties,” she explains. Her workshops offer participants a chance to express feelings and work through challenges using paintbrushes and canvases as their tools.
In addition to hosting workshops, the gallery displays Devora's own work, which primarily consists of large mixed-media pieces. She also creates painted jackets, clothing, and accessories that are showcased within the space. Her artwork, deeply influenced by her experiences and the healing power of art, includes notable series featuring silent film stars and modern cultural icons. Originally from Miami, Devora spent 20 years living in Los Angeles, where her art was sold to celebrities and exhibited in venues, including movie theaters across the country.
At Arttherapy, workshops are held periodically, inviting individuals dealing with chronic illness, trauma, emotional difficulties, depression, or stress to find relief through painting. The process is designed to foster a sense of community and emotional release, allowing participants to share their experiences through creative expression.
“When you walk in the door, I give you art supplies,” Devora says. “It’s all about mental health and wellness. This space is meant to help people feel better by giving them a creative outlet.”
Las Vegas native Pamela Sue Johnson, now living near Portland, Oregon, discovered Arttherapy during a visit to see her mother. "I went to one of the workshops and stayed for hours," she recalls. "It’s such a great space she’s created." For Johnson, the act of creating alongside others was deeply therapeutic. “Loneliness is an epidemic in cultures around the world,” she adds, recognizing how communal art can bridge that gap.
For Devora, this gallery is also a personal mission. “I want to give back—especially to women,” she says. “People are hurting right now. They have a lot of trauma, and this space is here to help them heal.”
Located at 353 E. Bonneville Ave., Suite 183, just off Fourth Street in downtown Las Vegas, Arttherapy Cafe and Gallery is a place where anyone can come to find peace through creativity. Those interested in learning more can visit their website at arttherapycafe.com or call 323-445-6781. Follow @arttherapycafe on Instagram for updates and event details.
🥊 Merab Dvalashvili Dethrones Sean O’Malley to Claim UFC Bantamweight Title at Sphere
UFC 306 delivered a thrilling night of action on Saturday at the Sphere in Las Vegas, as challengers seized the spotlight in key fights. In the main event, Merab Dvalishvili neutralized reigning bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley for 25 grueling minutes, earning a unanimous decision victory and the bantamweight title. Dvalashvili's wrestling and relentless pace kept O’Malley off balance throughout the fight, leading to scorecards of 48-47, 48-47, and 49-46 in his favor.
Valentina Shevchenko also reclaimed her spot atop the women’s flyweight division by defeating Alexa Grasso via unanimous decision in their highly anticipated rematch. Shevchenko controlled much of the fight with her grappling, securing takedowns in each of the first three rounds and avoiding submission attempts from Grasso. Shevchenko avenged her previous loss and a split draw to Grasso, winning 50-45 on all three scorecards to regain the flyweight belt.
The event, dubbed Riyadh Season Noche UFC, marked the first live sporting event at the tech-infused Sphere, blending sports and entertainment with a celebration of Mexican culture.
Main Event: Dvalashvili Dethrones O’Malley
Dvalashvili (18-4) executed a perfect game plan, using his grappling to control O’Malley (18-2) and neutralize his dangerous striking. Despite a scare in the final round when O’Malley landed a body kick that appeared to hurt Dvalashvili, the Georgian fighter recovered and kept O’Malley at bay. Dvalashvili expressed his joy in victory, stating, “Look at me. I’m the UFC champion. I’m living my dream.”
Shevchenko Reclaims Flyweight Title
In the co-main event, Valentina Shevchenko (24-4-1) exacted revenge on Alexa Grasso (16-4-1), who had submitted her in March 2023. Shevchenko’s dominant wrestling allowed her to control the early rounds, and she expertly avoided Grasso’s dangerous submissions. Although Grasso threatened with a guillotine choke in the fourth round, Shevchenko maintained her composure to secure the unanimous decision victory. “Everything about this fight is more satisfying,” Shevchenko said, celebrating her dominant performance and the return of her flyweight title.
Diego Lopes Defeats Brian Ortega
Featherweight contender Diego Lopes (26-6) claimed a unanimous decision victory over top contender Brian Ortega (16-4) in a long-awaited bout. After their originally scheduled fight in June was canceled due to Ortega falling ill, Lopes came out aggressive, dropping Ortega in the opening minute. Although Ortega fought back, he couldn’t overcome Lopes’ early success, and the Brazilian fighter earned the win on all three scorecards.
Rest of the Main Card
Esteban Ribovics (14-1) extended his winning streak to three by narrowly defeating Las Vegas local Daniel Zellhuber (15-2) in a split decision in a back-and-forth lightweight war. Both fighters landed heavy shots and nearly finished each other, drawing a standing ovation from the crowd.
Ronaldo Rodriguez (18-2) survived an early scare in his flyweight bout against Ode’ Osbourne (12-8, 1 no-contest), recovering from a near knockout and submission attempt in the opening seconds to win by unanimous decision.
Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic Announced for UFC 309
UFC President Dana White confirmed that heavyweight champion Jon Jones will defend his title against former champ Stipe Miocic in the main event of UFC 309 on November 16 at Madison Square Garden. The fight was postponed from last year after Jones suffered a torn pectoral muscle, but now both fighters are set to meet in a highly anticipated showdown.
Preliminary Card Highlights
Norma Dumont dominated Irene Aldana in a bloody bantamweight battle, winning by unanimous decision and extending her win streak to five fights.
Ignacio Bahamondes knocked out Manuel Torres in the first round of their lightweight bout, securing the victory with a barrage of punches.
Ketlen Souza submitted Yazmin Jauregui with a choke in the first round of their women’s strawweight fight.
Joshua Van earned a unanimous decision victory over Edgar Chairez in a flyweight bout.
Las Vegas resident Raul Rosas Jr. became the first fighter to win a bout at the Sphere, defeating Aori Qileng by unanimous decision in the night’s opening fight. Rosas, just 19 years old, has his sights set on breaking Jon Jones’ record as the youngest champion in UFC history.

🏃♂️🥈 YouTube Star Troy Adashun Aims for Olympic Record in 100-Meter Sprint at Green Valley High School
Troy Adashun, a Las Vegas-based fitness influencer and entrepreneur, recently pushed himself through a grueling month of training to try to beat an Olympic world record in the 100 meters. Known for his YouTube channel Superhuman Troy, Adashun has built a strong following through his fitness content, including challenges like this one, where he attempts to sprint faster than the 12-second time set in 1896 by Thomas Burke at the first modern Olympic Games.
The preparation took place at Green Valley High School, where Adashun trained intensely, focusing on diet and form. Under the guidance of former pro football player Aaron Hargreaves, he ran sprints with a weighted sled and refined his technique to improve his speed. His wife, Kathy Adashun—also a fitness influencer—helped document the challenge, capturing it all for their popular YouTube channel.
Despite nerves and uncertainty, Adashun achieved his goal, clocking in at 11.65 seconds. The success was part of his broader mission as a fitness influencer, which includes his role as co-founder of Alpha Lion, a rapidly growing fitness and supplement company on track to earn over $200 million in sales this year. The brand’s success is tied to Adashun’s unique approach to fitness content, combining humor, personal challenges, and a deep understanding of exercise science.
Through hundreds of YouTube videos, Adashun has built a loyal following, amassing over 746,000 subscribers and over 60 million views. He credits his appeal not just to his physical training but to his ability to connect with audiences through his approachable, self-deprecating style, making fitness more accessible and fun.
Beyond content creation, Adashun’s company Alpha Lion is making waves in the fitness industry. Known for their creative product names and effective formulas, Alpha Lion’s supplements, like the popular SuperHuman Pre-Workout, have gained widespread recognition. The company’s growth mirrors Adashun’s own journey—starting from humble beginnings and quickly expanding into a multi-million dollar business.
Reflecting on his career, Adashun sees fitness as a transformative force. He believes that improving one’s body can build confidence and open doors in all areas of life, from personal relationships to business success. Through his challenges, business ventures, and relatable content, Adashun continues to inspire others to put in the work to achieve their own goals.
