🏈 Raiders’ Davante Adams and Maxx Crosby Likely Out for Key Matchup Against Browns
The Las Vegas Raiders face significant challenges ahead of their matchup against the Cleveland Browns this Sunday, as coach Antonio Pierce announced that two key players will be sidelined. Speaking before Friday’s practice, Pierce confirmed that wide receiver Davante Adams will be out due to a hamstring injury sustained during Thursday’s practice. Additionally, despite being officially listed as "doubtful," star edge rusher Maxx Crosby is unlikely to play because of an ankle injury. However, Crosby’s status remains somewhat uncertain, given his track record of playing through injuries, as evidenced by his participation against the Kansas City Chiefs in November despite being doubtful.
Crosby, 27, has never missed a game in his career and is known for his resilience. Last week, he played through a high-ankle sprain in the Raiders’ 36-22 loss to the Carolina Panthers. Still, Pierce indicated that Crosby would likely sit out Sunday’s game, as the injury continues to bother him.
Adams, 31, will miss the game after suffering his hamstring injury during practice. Pierce didn’t offer a timeline for Adams' return, stating, “I just know he’s out this week. But he’s kind of like Maxx…You never know how they’ll respond. They’ve been doing this a long time in their career.” The loss of Adams, a cornerstone of the Raiders' offense, will force the team to adjust its passing game as it faces a formidable Browns defense.
Other Injuries Plaguing the Raiders
Adams and Crosby aren’t the only injured players the Raiders must account for. Right tackle Thayer Munford Jr. is listed as doubtful due to knee and ankle injuries, and Pierce indicated Munford will not play on Sunday. The offensive line will be further tested, having already dealt with injuries throughout the season.
In addition, linebacker Divine Deablo is set to miss his second consecutive game with an oblique injury, continuing to weaken the Raiders' defense. Tight end Michael Mayer is out for personal reasons, while rookie cornerback Decamerion Richardson remains sidelined with a hamstring injury that has kept him off the field all season.
Adding to the Raiders' concerns, linebacker Kana’i Mauga (calf) and running back Ameer Abdullah (back) did not participate in Friday’s practice and are listed as questionable for Sunday. If they can’t suit up, the Raiders' depth will be further stretched.
Browns Dealing with Injuries as Well
The Browns will also be without several key players. Tight end David Njoku (ankle), running back Pierre Strong Jr. (hamstring), and offensive tackles Jack Conklin (hamstring) and Jedrick Wills Jr. (knee) have all been ruled out for Sunday’s game. Despite those absences, the Browns received positive news regarding defensive end Myles Garrett, the reigning Defensive Player of the Year. Garrett was a full participant in Friday’s practice and, despite dealing with multiple injuries, will be ready to play without limitations.
Community Recognition for Alexander Mattison
In positive news for the Raiders organization, running back Alexander Mattison was named the Week 4 NFLPA Community MVP for his charitable efforts. During the Raiders' recent game against the Panthers, Mattison provided a VIP experience for two families, which included tickets, pre- and postgame passes, transportation, and a meet-and-greet. Through his I AM GIFTED foundation, Mattison also gave each family $1,000.
“Being named the NFLPA Community MVP is a tremendous honor and a reminder of why I do this work,” Mattison said in a statement. In addition to the recognition, Mattison’s foundation received a $10,000 donation from the NFLPA, and he is now eligible to win the organization’s annual Community MVP award at the end of the year.
Harrison Bryant’s Memories of Raiders-Browns Matchup
Tight end Harrison Bryant, now with the Raiders, reminisced about the last time the Raiders played the Browns, on December 20, 2021. In that game, Bryant scored a late touchdown that gave Cleveland the lead, only for Raiders kicker Daniel Carlson to seal the game with a last-second, 48-yard field goal.
Bryant recalled, “I’m pretty sure Daniel kicked a game winner in the last seconds to beat us after that…It was a crazy week,” referring to the game being delayed by several days due to a COVID-19 outbreak that sidelined Cleveland’s top two quarterbacks and head coach Kevin Stefanski. Carlson remembered it as well, joking with Bryant, “Sorry, Harrison. But he’s a Raider now, so he should be happy.”
This weekend’s game marks the Browns' first visit to Allegiant Stadium, and Bryant is looking forward to the atmosphere, noting the similarities between Cleveland’s famous “Dawg Pound” and the passionate Raiders fanbase. “They’re super loyal and love their team. It’s two great fanbases, so hopefully we can put a great game on for them.”
Raiders Face Tough Test
With several key players missing, including Davante Adams and likely Maxx Crosby, the Raiders will have their work cut out for them against the Browns on Sunday. Both teams are dealing with injuries, but the Raiders' ability to adapt without their top playmakers will be crucial to their success at Allegiant Stadium. The game kicks off at 1:25 p.m. local time, with fans encouraged to arrive early to take in pregame festivities, including the lighting of the Al Davis Memorial Torch.
🎶 Raiders Host Halftime Performance by Iconic ‘70s Band War at Allegiant Stadium
The Las Vegas Raiders are set to bring an exciting blend of music and football to Allegiant Stadium this Sunday, as they face the Cleveland Browns. Halftime entertainment will be provided by the legendary 1970s rock, funk, and Latin band War, adding a unique cultural flair to the game day experience.
War, known for classic hits like “Spill The Wine,” “Low Rider,” “Why Can’t We Be Friends,” and “The Cisco Kid,” will perform during the halftime show. Fans can expect a high-energy performance that blends rock, funk, and Latin rhythms, with at least two of these iconic songs making it to the setlist. War’s sound has made them a staple of FM radio for decades, and their music continues to resonate with audiences of all ages. Led by founding member Lonnie Jordan, War has become a regular act in Las Vegas, most recently headlining at the Silverton’s Veil Pavilion in June, showcasing their enduring popularity.
This halftime show is part of the Raiders’ ongoing effort to provide memorable experiences beyond the game itself. War’s performance is sure to bring a nostalgic yet energetic vibe to the stadium, complementing the excitement of the NFL action.
Honoring Raiders Tradition
In addition to the musical performance, Sunday’s game will feature another important moment for Raiders fans: former linebacker Jeff Barnes, who played with the Raiders from 1977 to 1987, will light the Al Davis Memorial Torch. This tradition honors the legacy of the late Al Davis, the iconic owner and general manager who shaped the Raiders' identity over decades. Barnes, a two-time Super Bowl champion with the Raiders, is a fitting choice for this honor, as he represents the grit and determination that defined Davis’ teams.
Pregame Festivities and National Anthem Performance
The day’s festivities don’t end with the halftime show. Fans are encouraged to arrive at Allegiant Stadium early to enjoy pregame events, which will include interactive elements such as photo opportunities near the Al Davis Memorial Torch. The Raiders are known for creating an electric atmosphere both inside and outside the stadium, and Sunday will be no exception.
Adding to the day's entertainment, Lindsey Springer, a talented violinist, will perform the national anthem prior to the game’s 1:25 p.m. kickoff. Springer’s rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” will set the tone for what promises to be an exciting game between the Raiders and Browns, as both teams look to make strides in their seasons.
Raiders' Commitment to Entertainment
The Raiders continue to prioritize fan experience with high-profile halftime performances, special guests, and pregame entertainment, making Allegiant Stadium one of the premier destinations for both sports and live music. The combination of live musical acts and NFL action creates an atmosphere that appeals to a diverse audience, blending the best of Las Vegas entertainment with the excitement of football.
For Raiders fans and music lovers alike, Sunday’s game offers a perfect mix of nostalgia, tradition, and live entertainment, ensuring that the day will be memorable long after the final whistle.
🎰 Station Casinos to Launch New Americana-Inspired Tavern Seventy-Six in North Las Vegas
Station Casinos is launching a new tavern brand called Seventy-Six, with its first location set to open in North Las Vegas in early October. The company announced that the tavern will have a soft opening on October 10, followed by a grand opening on October 11, marking the debut of this new concept aimed at locals seeking a relaxed yet upscale atmosphere for dining and gaming.
The soft opening at 6345 N. Lamb Blvd. will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, with company executives leading a public toast to mark the occasion. This event will be an opportunity for early visitors to get a sneak peek at the new tavern before it officially welcomes the public the next day.
The grand opening on October 11, which starts at 7 p.m., promises to be an exciting event. The first 100 guests will receive a custom-designed flask, a limited-edition keepsake to commemorate the opening. Additionally, all visitors on the first day will have a chance to win $2,000 in cash and prizes every hour, adding to the excitement and anticipation surrounding the launch.
An "Americana-Inspired" Atmosphere
The Seventy-Six brand is being described as "Americana-inspired," and the new tavern is designed to reflect that theme, with décor and a casual yet modern vibe that pays homage to American culture and traditions. With 15 bartop gaming machines, patrons will be able to play poker, blackjack, slot games, and keno while enjoying their drinks. The tavern is also equipped with 24 TVs spread throughout the space, making it a prime spot for watching sports and other live events.
A Curated Menu by Chef Danny Wilkins
The food menu at Seventy-Six is curated by Chef Danny Wilkins, offering a variety of dishes that blend familiar American flavors with a contemporary twist. Some of the featured menu items include:
Ahi Tuna Nachos: A fresh and flavorful take on traditional nachos with ahi tuna as the star ingredient.
Fried Street Corn Tacos: A street food favorite turned into a satisfying meal with a crunchy, savory twist.
Sliced Ribeye Panini Dip: A hearty sandwich made with tender ribeye and served with a rich dipping sauce.
Creamy Poblano Chicken Pasta: A creamy pasta dish featuring poblano peppers and chicken, delivering comfort with a little spice.
Cowboy Burger: A bold, flavorful burger designed to satisfy hearty appetites.
These diverse offerings aim to attract foodies and casual diners alike, making the tavern a destination for both eating and socializing.
Expansion Plans: More Locations Coming Soon
This North Las Vegas location is just the beginning for Seventy-Six. Station Casinos has already announced plans to open two more Seventy-Six taverns in early 2025. One of the future locations will be on Kyle Canyon, near U.S. Highway 95, while the other will be on Aliante Parkway, located directly across from Boyd Gaming’s Aliante. These additional locations highlight Station Casinos' commitment to expanding its presence in the local tavern market, particularly in rapidly growing areas of the Las Vegas Valley.
A Growing Focus on Local Taverns
The launch of the Seventy-Six brand is part of Station Casinos' strategy to strengthen its foothold in the Las Vegas locals' market. Known for its popular casinos and resorts, the company has been diversifying its offerings to include smaller, neighborhood-oriented venues like Seventy-Six. These taverns provide a more intimate, accessible alternative to the large-scale casinos on the Strip and are designed to cater to locals who want a relaxed and welcoming environment to eat, drink, and play.
As Las Vegas continues to grow, especially in suburban areas like North Las Vegas and Aliante, the demand for neighborhood taverns is on the rise. Seventy-Six will serve as a gathering spot for local residents looking for a casual, yet elevated dining and gaming experience close to home.
Conclusion: A New Destination for Dining and Gaming
The opening of Seventy-Six in North Las Vegas signals a new chapter for Station Casinos as it expands its reach into the local tavern market. With a focus on Americana-inspired design, a carefully curated menu, and plenty of gaming options, Seventy-Six aims to offer something for everyone—from food enthusiasts to sports fans to those looking for a fun night out.
With two more locations slated to open in 2025, Seventy-Six is poised to become a prominent player in the local tavern scene, providing residents with a go-to spot for entertainment, great food, and a little bit of luck at the gaming machines.
