๐ Sophia Loren's Glamour Lights Up New Italian Restaurant in Sun City Summerlin
At 90, Oscar-winning actress Sophia Loren remains a legendary figure of Hollywood's Golden Age, admired for her iconic beauty and glamorous presence. While it's uncertain whether she actually said the words famously attributed to her about her figureโdespite the quote appearing in a 1961 Life magazine articleโLoren herself denied it in a 2015 interview with The New York Times. Yet, does the truth of the quote really matter?
For fans and diners alike, the image of Loren in her primeโmouth open, poised to enjoy a forkful of spaghettiโstill exudes timeless elegance. This very image commands attention at Brunello LV, a new Italian restaurant in Sun City Summerlin. The larger-than-life portrait of Loren graces the dining room, fitting for an establishment named after the renowned Tuscan wine, Brunello. The restaurantโs tables are topped with lamps made from Brunello-labeled bottles, adding a unique flair to the ambiance.
Brunello LV opens its doors Tuesday, offering an upscale dining experience inspired by Mediterranean cuisine. The restaurant features an open kitchen, a chic turquoise-and-gold bar, and a dog-friendly terrace. The menu is focused on house-made pastas, fresh seafood, and other Mediterranean dishes, paired with a selection of fine wines. Lorenโs beauty and Italian heritage serve as inspiration not only for the restaurant's decor but also its culinary philosophy.
Operating from 3 to 9 p.m., Tuesdays through Sundays, Brunello LV offers dinner service alongside a happy hour from 3 to 5 p.m. Plans are already in place to expand the beverage selection and introduce lunch service soon. The restaurant will also cater private events. Brunello LV is located at 9320 Sun City Blvd., in the space formerly occupied by My Motherโs House. For more information, visit brunellolv.com or follow the restaurant on social media at @brunellolv.
๐ NFL Legend Tom Brady Set to Join Raiders Ownership Team, Major Influence Expected
Tom Brady, the legendary NFL quarterback, is on the verge of becoming a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, pending approval from NFL owners. The owners are set to meet this Tuesday in Atlanta, and one key agenda item is Bradyโs bid to acquire a 10 percent stake in the franchise. With 24 out of 32 owners needing to approve the sale, the decision is largely expected to be a formality.
Brady's involvement with the Raiders could extend beyond mere financial investment. According to a league source, the seven-time Super Bowl champion is anticipated to have a significant role in shaping the future of the team, especially on the football side of operations. "I think Tom is going to have a much bigger role than people think in the direction of the franchise in all areas on the football side," said the source.
This development comes after more than a year of negotiations between Brady, Raiders owner Mark Davis, and Tom Wagner, co-founder of Knighthead Capital Management. The deal had been delayed due to concerns over the sale price and Bradyโs ongoing commitment as a lead NFL game analyst for Fox Sports. However, the NFL finance committee is now reportedly satisfied with the financial terms, moving the sale to a full ownership vote.
While Brady's 10 percent stake will not grant him majority ownershipโfar from the 30 percent needed to have controlโit does provide him an influential voice. Davis, who owns about 60 percent of the franchise, along with his mother, Carol, is expected to give Brady significant leeway in offering advice and shaping decisions. "Itโs not the percentage that matters, but the trust the owner places in him," a league insider added.
Brady's connection to the Raiders is not his first venture into Las Vegas sports. He also owns a minority share of the WNBA's Las Vegas Aces, which is also under Mark Davisโ ownership. This prior relationship likely strengthens the trust between Brady and Davis, as they continue to collaborate in the sports world.
The Raiders, valued at $7.8 billion according to CNBC, are one of the NFLโs most prominent franchises. Bradyโs stake will not come entirely from the Davis familyโs share, but will be spread among several other interest holders. These include families and entities such as the Winkenbach family and Fox Football, among others.
Beyond the immediate transaction, Bradyโs stake in the Raiders could set the stage for a larger future role. As Davis has no children or siblings, should the franchise be sold in the future, Brady and his partners may be in a prime position to make a competitive bid for a majority stake. They could also purchase more shares over time, giving Brady an even greater say in the direction of the team.
For now, all eyes are on the NFL owners' meeting in Atlanta, where one of footballโs greatest players may soon add "NFL owner" to his storied resume.

โ New Mothership Coffee Location Near Ikea Brings Convenient Drive-Thru Option
Local favorite Mothership Coffee Roasters is bringing its popular brews to a new part of Las Vegas, with plans to open a sixth location in the southwest valley. The coffee chain made the announcement via Instagram on Tuesday, revealing that the new cafรฉ will be located at 8740 W. Sunset Road, Suite F-150, just across from Ikea, near the intersection of Sunset Road and Riley Street.
This new location will feature a drive-thru, a first for Mothership Coffee Roasters, allowing customers to grab their favorite drinks more conveniently. While the exact opening date hasn't been confirmed, the company hinted that the new spot will be ready soon. "Our 6th location is almost here, and we canโt wait to bring Mothership to this thriving community," the Instagram post read.
Mothership Coffee Roasters has been serving Las Vegas since 2012, starting with its first cafรฉ, Sunrise Coffee, near Sunset Park. Over the years, the chain has grown into a local staple, with five locations, including two stores in Henderson, one in Downtown Summerlin (which opened in July 2023), and one at Fergusons Downtown in downtown Las Vegas.
The upcoming southwest location marks a significant expansion for the chain as it continues to serve fresh, locally roasted coffee to more neighborhoods across the Las Vegas Valley.
For updates on the opening date, keep an eye on Mothershipโs social media pages and website.
โ Clark County Residents: How to Return Misaddressed Mail Ballots Safely
As election season approaches and mail ballots are sent out statewide, residents may receive ballots addressed to people who no longer reside at their address. This can happen if the former occupants have not updated their voter registration information with the local election authorities.
If you find yourself in this situation and receive a mail ballot for someone who no longer lives at your address, there's a simple way to handle it. First, avoid opening the envelope. Instead, write on the outside, "This voter no longer lives here," and place it back in your outgoing mail. The postal service will return the ballot to the election department, and the voterโs name will be added to the undeliverable list. This ensures the intended recipient is flagged, and election officials can take appropriate action to keep voter rolls up to date.
It's important to remember that this is a routine issue, and taking the proper steps helps maintain accurate voter registration records and prevents any complications during the election process.
For any questions or further clarification regarding mail ballots, voters are encouraged to contact the Clark County Election Department directly at 702-455-VOTE (8683). Whether you're confirming your own voter registration status or seeking guidance on what to do with misaddressed ballots, the election department is ready to assist.
