❎ Las Vegas Motorists and Travelers Face Delays with Trump and Harris Visits Thursday
Las Vegas is set to experience significant traffic disruptions on Thursday as both former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris visit the city for separate events. These high-profile appearances will bring road closures, potential flight delays, and increased congestion around key routes and venues.
Event Details and Expected Impact on Traffic
Trump will be holding a rally at Lee’s Family Forum in Henderson on Green Valley Parkway, just south of the 215 Beltway. Doors for the event will open at 11:30 a.m., with Trump scheduled to speak at 3:30 p.m. Attendees and supporters are expected to begin gathering in the area well before doors open, creating significant traffic in and around Henderson.
With Green Valley Parkway serving as a major access point to the event, motorists can expect traffic issues on the 215 Beltway as well as Green Valley Parkway and Paseo Verde Parkway. For those trying to avoid the area, other routes like Valle Verde Drive and St. Rose Parkway/Pecos Road could offer an alternative; however, these roads are also likely to see increased traffic as drivers seek ways around the event.
Meanwhile, Vice President Harris is set to arrive in Las Vegas in the evening, following rallies in Phoenix and Reno earlier in the day. Her Las Vegas event is scheduled for 5 p.m., though details of the location remain undisclosed. Harris’ event will feature performances by Latin pop group Maná and actor and recording artist Jennifer Lopez, drawing crowds to what is expected to be a high-profile venue somewhere within the Las Vegas metro area.
Traffic Implications for Harris’ Visit
While Harris’ specific event location is unknown, her arrival and travel in the Las Vegas area will likely affect several key routes as her motorcade moves from Harry Reid International Airport into the city. Based on previous visits by Harris and other vice presidents, routes that may experience delays include the airport connector tunnel, Tropicana Avenue, Las Vegas Boulevard, the 215 Beltway, and Interstate 15.
FAA Flight Restrictions and Air Traffic Impacts
In addition to road congestion, air travelers should prepare for delays. The Federal Aviation Administration has issued two separate Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs) over the Las Vegas Valley airspace to accommodate the movement of VIPs. The first TFR, covering Henderson and Las Vegas, will be in place from 12:45 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday. A second TFR, impacting the wider Las Vegas area, will run from 7:15 p.m. Thursday until 10:45 a.m. Friday.
These restrictions often result in ground stops or delays at Harry Reid International Airport as Air Force Two arrives and departs. Past visits by Harris have led to airport ground stops for security reasons, which in turn may affect flight schedules, particularly for arrivals and departures within the TFR windows.
Increased Security and Delays
Heightened security protocols will accompany both the Trump and Harris events, with road closures and restricted access along major routes. This will likely cause delays not only for motorists but also for those using public transit and ride-sharing services around Henderson, Las Vegas Boulevard, and nearby areas.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and the Secret Service are expected to be coordinating on security and traffic management, focusing on major intersections, highways, and likely motorcade routes to ensure secure transport for the visiting dignitaries. With additional police presence, intersections and streets may close briefly as motorcades move through, particularly in and around popular tourist areas and key points like the airport and the Las Vegas Strip.
What Drivers Should Expect
Green Valley Parkway and 215 Beltway: Drivers should anticipate heavy traffic, especially in the early afternoon near Lee’s Family Forum as Trump’s rally attendees gather.
Henderson Alternative Routes: Motorists aiming to bypass the Green Valley area may find Valle Verde Drive and St. Rose Parkway viable alternatives, but these routes could also experience increased volume.
Las Vegas Boulevard and Airport Connector: As Harris arrives in Las Vegas, traffic on these primary routes may be delayed by her motorcade.
Flight Delays at Harry Reid International: Travelers should check their flight status in advance due to the likelihood of delays resulting from TFRs and ground stops at the airport.
Anticipated Schedule
Trump’s Event: Doors open at 11:30 a.m., remarks at 3:30 p.m. Expect delays in the Green Valley area and around the 215 Beltway throughout the afternoon.
Harris’ Event: Scheduled for 5 p.m., with possible delays around major routes as her motorcade arrives from the airport.
Flight Restrictions: TFRs will be active from 12:45 p.m. to 7 p.m. for Henderson and Las Vegas, and from 7:15 p.m. Thursday to 10:45 a.m. Friday for broader Las Vegas airspace.
With both events drawing significant attention, locals and tourists are encouraged to allow extra travel time, monitor traffic updates, and check flight statuses to minimize inconvenience.
⚾ L.A. Dodgers Capture Second World Series Title in Five Years with 7-6 Victory
The Los Angeles Dodgers clinched their second World Series title in five years with a thrilling 7-6 comeback win over the New York Yankees in Game 5. The Dodgers overcame a daunting 5-0 deficit, fueled by Yankees’ defensive errors and clutch sacrifices from Gavin Lux and Mookie Betts in the eighth inning, to secure their eighth championship overall.
Early Yankee Lead and Defensive Miscues
The Yankees dominated early with power from Aaron Judge and Jazz Chisholm Jr., who hit back-to-back homers in the first inning. An RBI single from Alex Verdugo in the second chased Dodgers’ starter Jack Flaherty, and Giancarlo Stanton’s solo homer in the third pushed the Yankees’ lead to 5-0.
However, in the fifth inning, Yankees miscues paved the way for a Dodgers rally. Judge’s drop in center and a wide throw from shortstop Anthony Volpe, paired with pitcher Gerrit Cole’s failure to cover first base on Betts’ grounder, led to five unearned runs. Dodgers’ first baseman Freddie Freeman delivered a critical two-run single, followed by a game-tying double from Teoscar Hernández.
Late-Game Heroics
Stanton’s sixth-inning sacrifice fly momentarily restored the Yankees’ lead at 6-5, but the Dodgers loaded the bases against Yankees reliever Tommy Kahnle in the eighth. Sacrifice flies from Lux and Betts off Luke Weaver turned the tide back in favor of the Dodgers, putting them up 7-6.
Blake Treinen, the game’s winning pitcher, worked his way out of a two-on, one-out jam in the bottom of the eighth by retiring Stanton on a flyout and striking out Anthony Rizzo. Then, Walker Buehler, making his first relief appearance since his 2018 rookie season, pitched a flawless ninth inning to lock down the save and clinch the title.
Key Players and Season Achievements
Betts praised the resilience and unity of the team. “There’s so much love in the clubhouse that won this game today,” he said, celebrating a season marked by discipline and grit.
Freddie Freeman’s impressive postseason continued as he tied a World Series record with 12 RBIs, while Shohei Ohtani’s record-setting season saw him struggle in the Series after a shoulder injury in Game 2 limited his production. Despite his impressive 50-homer, 50-steal season, Ohtani went just 2-for-19 with no RBIs in the Series.
The Dodgers’ 2023 victory marks their first full-season title since 1988, adding a historic chapter to the franchise. Manager Dave Roberts captured his second title with the team, joining the ranks of legendary Dodgers teams from Sandy Koufax’s era to the “Boys of Summer” in the 1950s and the Tommy Lasorda-led groups of the 1980s.
Yankees’ Struggles Continue
The Yankees, who last won a title in 2009, now face an offseason of questions, with outfielder Juan Soto set to enter free agency. Despite solid performances, including Judge’s 4-for-18 Series with three RBIs, defensive errors proved costly in the final game. Cole’s pitching, initially flawless, faltered as he allowed five unearned runs in a single inning marred by defensive mistakes.
For the Dodgers, the victory was a culmination of a dominant season in which they won 98 games and capped off the best regular-season record in baseball. This triumph cements the Dodgers’ position as one of baseball’s most storied franchises, once again proving their resilience and talent on the world stage.

🏎 Las Vegas Grand Prix Reduces Ticket Prices for Fans with New Hamilton Package
The Formula One Las Vegas Grand Prix is offering discounted tickets for the first time, using a special deal honoring seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton. The “Lewis Hamilton Las Vegas Package” offers a 44% discount—matching the number of Hamilton’s car—on three-day passes to the West Harmon Zone, bringing the price down from $1,200 to $672, excluding taxes and fees. The deal includes amenities like complimentary food, soft drinks, water, live entertainment, and access to fan activations, plus a limited-edition “+44” hat.
This ticket offer comes as organizers have recently relocated some fans with seats in the West Harmon Zone to the East Harmon Zone within the Heineken Silver Main grandstand. The relocation decision was made following concerns about limited views in some West Harmon grandstands due to obstructions from a temporary bridge. Steve Hill, CEO of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, said the adjustments would improve the viewing experience, as the West Harmon Zone’s sightlines were partially blocked, reducing demand for seats in that area.
Hill described the situation as one that organizers wanted to address for the benefit of fans, noting that repositioned seats in the East Harmon Zone offer a clearer view of the action. With the discounted Hamilton tickets now available, Ticketmaster is showing several hundred seats for the West Harmon Zone still available.
For fans looking for the next most affordable three-day option outside of the Hamilton deal, tickets to the T-Mobile grandstands in the Sphere Zone are listed at $1,200.
The West Harmon Zone provides a view of the high-speed Harmon Straight, the braking zone, and a glimpse of the final turn leading to the finish line at the Grand Prix Plaza, offering spectators an up-close experience with the race's high-stakes final moments. Purchase your tickets here.
🎶 Celine Dion’s Surprise Appearance at Adele Show Creates Unforgettable Vegas Moment
For the first time since ending her historic residency, Celine Dion made a highly emotional return to the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, attending Adele’s Saturday night performance from a VIP box. Dion, who concluded her record-breaking residency on June 8, 2019, joined the audience to watch Adele, marking what appears to be her first visit to the Colosseum since her own farewell performance.
The emotional moment between the two divas unfolded midshow, when Adele, performing her nostalgic hit “When We Were Young,” spotted Dion in the crowd seated with her sons, René-Charles, Nelson, and Eddy Angélil. Overcome with emotion, Adele paused the song and walked toward Dion’s box, visibly tearful. Dion, also emotional, was seen dabbing her eyes as Adele returned to the stage, marking a heartfelt and powerful reunion between two of music’s most celebrated voices.
The following Monday, Adele shared a touching post on Instagram, accompanied by a photo of the two stars embracing. “I have been performing in Celine Dion’s room at the Colosseum for almost 2 years now… it was the only venue I wanted to play in Vegas because it was built for her,” Adele wrote, sharing that Dion’s surprise visit was a true “MOMENT.” Adele also mentioned a pre-show ritual of touching a photo of Dion that she keeps by the stage every night.
Adele has long been a devoted fan of Dion, even keeping a piece of Dion’s used chewing gum as a quirky souvenir. This isn’t the first time Adele has shared her admiration; she attended Dion’s Colosseum show in January 2018 and later posted on Instagram about the unforgettable experience, calling Dion a “queen” and an “absolute highlight” in her life.
While Dion’s own future in Las Vegas remains uncertain, with 2025 dates tentatively held at Resorts World Theatre, no official announcement has been made regarding her return. Meanwhile, Adele confirmed she will be taking a break after her Colosseum residency ends in November, mentioning her desire to spend more time with family and potentially expand her family.
