  • Modern Amenities: Each unit includes front entry courtyards, covered patios, rooftop terraces, and optional private elevators.

  • Attached Garages: All townhomes will have two-car garages.

  • Multigenerational Suites: Select designs offer options for multigenerational living, catering to families seeking separate living spaces for extended family members.

  • Pricing: Prices will start in the mid-$700,000s, positioning the homes as a premium offering in the Las Vegas housing market.

A Statement from Toll Brothers

Toll Brothers’ Las Vegas division president, Janet Love, expressed enthusiasm about the project, highlighting its fit within the prestigious Summerlin master plan. The community aims to provide a blend of luxury, innovation, and functionality to prospective buyers.

The Kestrel Commons Village

Raven Crest is part of Kestrel Commons Village, a newer addition to Summerlin West. This area reflects the latest in community planning, offering modern amenities and architectural designs tailored to contemporary lifestyles.

With its proximity to shopping, dining, and recreation, Kestrel Commons has quickly become one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Summerlin. The addition of Raven Crest enhances the area’s appeal, providing buyers with new luxury housing options.

🏒 Golden Knights Hold Off Sharks, Extend Dominance in San Jose with 4-2 Win

The Golden Knights overcame penalty kill struggles to secure a 4-2 victory over the San Jose Sharks at SAP Center on Tuesday. Despite allowing two power-play goals, the Knights capitalized on strong early play to sweep the three-game season series against the Sharks and claim their ninth win in the last 10 games.

Key Highlights

  • Mark Stone’s Milestone Night: Captain Mark Stone scored his 100th goal with the franchise, marking another milestone after recently reaching 600 career NHL points.

  • Victor Olofsson’s Power-Play Impact: Olofsson scored a pivotal power-play goal in the third period to re-establish a two-goal lead.

  • Tomas Hertl’s Homecoming Success: Hertl, in his second return to face his former team, scored an empty-net goal, his 11th of the season and first since December 23.

  • Ilya Samsonov’s Solid Play: The Knights’ goaltender stopped 20 shots, earning his sixth consecutive win while allowing two goals or fewer in each of those starts.

First-Period Surge

The Knights (28-9-3) dominated early, quickly taking a 2-0 lead. Stone opened the scoring at 8:39 of the first period, breaking free from Sharks defenseman Cody Ceci for a partial breakaway and beating goaltender Alexandar Georgiev glove side.

Just 1:29 later, defenseman Zach Whitecloud doubled the lead with a goal from the right circle, threading the puck through Georgiev’s five-hole off a pass from Brett Howden.

San Jose’s Power-Play Push

The Sharks (13-24-6) made it a one-goal game in the second period when William Eklund scored on the power play. However, the Knights responded early in the third period as Olofsson converted on a one-timer during a man advantage to make it 3-1.

San Jose’s Timothy Liljegren capitalized on another power play at 10:41 of the third period, cutting the deficit to 3-2. The Knights’ penalty kill, typically a strength, has now allowed four power-play goals in the last three games, after conceding just six in the previous 18 contests.

Closing It Out

Hertl’s empty-net goal, set up by Stone’s defensive steal from Sharks center Macklin Celebrini, sealed the game with 1:20 remaining. The Knights improved to a league-best 59 points and remain dominant, boasting a 17-3-1 record in their last 21 games.

Three Takeaways from the Game

1. Knights’ Dominance at SAP Center

The Knights continued their incredible run at San Jose’s SAP Center, where they have never lost in regulation during the regular season. They improved to 14-0-3 all-time at the venue and 27-2-5 against the Sharks overall. Since 2019, the Knights have only one regulation loss in their last 28 meetings with their Pacific Division rivals.

2. Hertl’s Moment in San Jose

After being held scoreless in his first return to San Jose last month, Tomas Hertl finally broke through with an empty-net goal. The Sharks paid tribute to their former player during the December 27 game, but this time Hertl added his name to the score sheet, capping the Knights’ victory.

3. Stone’s Continued Milestones

In his 300th game with the Golden Knights, Mark Stone added another accolade to his growing list, becoming the fourth player in franchise history to score 100 goals. Stone joined William Karlsson, Jonathan Marchessault, and Reilly Smith in reaching the century mark for the team.

The Knights now turn their focus to their final game before the halfway point of the season, as they aim to maintain their league-best form and address their recent penalty-kill struggles.

Greenland: A Geopolitical and Climate Nexus with Global Implications

Remote, icy, and largely untouched, Greenland holds immense significance in shaping global weather, geopolitical strategies, and climate change outcomes. Its vast ice sheets, untapped natural resources, and strategic Arctic location have placed it at the center of international interest and environmental concern.

A Climate Change Hotspot

Greenland, the world’s largest island, is warming at four times the rate of the rest of the planet. This accelerated warming makes it a critical player in global climate dynamics:

  • Melting Ice Sheets: Greenland loses approximately 182 billion tons of ice annually, a figure that peaked at 489 billion tons in 2019. The island’s ice contains enough water to raise global sea levels by 24 feet if fully melted. A 2022 study revealed that nearly a foot of sea level rise is inevitable due to "zombie ice" already doomed to melt.

  • Albedo Effect: As Greenland’s ice melts, its reflective white surface gives way to darker land and ocean, absorbing more sunlight and accelerating global warming.

  • Ocean Currents: Melting ice is slowing the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC), a critical ocean current that influences global weather patterns. A collapse of AMOC could trigger severe disruptions, including prolonged freezes in Europe and North America.

Influence on Weather Patterns

Greenland’s ice and geography play a direct role in shaping weather across the globe:

  • Jet Stream Impacts: The island’s ice sheets influence the jet stream, often causing Arctic air to descend into North America and Europe. This phenomenon contributes to extreme winter conditions, such as the recent freeze impacting two-thirds of the United States.

  • Storm Steering: Greenland’s weather patterns can redirect storms. In 2012, conditions over Greenland helped steer Superstorm Sandy into the densely populated New York-New Jersey area.

  • Blocking Systems: High-pressure systems around Greenland can create weather blocks, locking regions into prolonged cold spells or heatwaves.

A Geopolitical and Resource Prize

Greenland’s strategic location and abundant resources make it a key focus of international interest:

  • Strategic Location: Straddling the Arctic Circle, Greenland lies between the U.S., Russia, and Europe, making it a vital geopolitical asset. Its importance grows as melting ice opens new shipping routes in the Arctic.

  • Natural Resources: The island holds vast reserves of rare earth minerals, uranium, natural gas, and oil. These resources are becoming more accessible as ice recedes, attracting interest from global powers.

  • U.S. Interest: The United States has long recognized Greenland’s value. President-elect Donald Trump previously expressed interest in acquiring the territory, which hosts a critical U.S. military base and is a semiautonomous part of Denmark, a NATO ally.

A Unique and Fragile Beauty

Beyond its geopolitical and climate significance, Greenland is a place of striking natural beauty and ecological importance. Towering icebergs, ancient glaciers, and diverse wildlife such as seals and killer whales make the island a breathtaking but vulnerable environment.

As the Arctic continues to warm and geopolitical tensions rise, Greenland will remain a critical focal point for understanding and addressing the interconnected challenges of climate change, resource management, and international relations.
