⛳ Summerlin’s Bear’s Best Golf Course Going Private, Public Play Ends in June

Bear’s Best Las Vegas, a highly regarded golf course in The Ridges neighborhood of Summerlin, is set to become a private country club following its recent sale. The course was purchased in 2024 by Las Vegas-based Mulligan Holdings Inc. for $30.5 million, according to property records.
Public Play Ends in June 2025
Currently, the course remains open to the public and will continue to allow tee time bookings until June 22, 2025. After this date, it will officially transition into a private club, limiting access to members only. Bear’s Best spans over 200 acres just west of the 215 Beltway in Summerlin South and features a selection of Jack Nicklaus’ favorite golf holes from courses he has designed worldwide.
Plans for a Premier Private Club
Mulligan Holdings has announced plans to redevelop Bear’s Best into an exclusive golf and social club, with a focus on enhancing the overall golf experience and contributing to Las Vegas’ status as a top golf destination. The company has not yet released details regarding membership structure, pricing, or additional amenities, but the transition aligns with a growing trend of high-end private golf communities in the Las Vegas Valley.
New Owners Have Strong Ties to Las Vegas
Mulligan Holdings Inc. is led by Mike Mixer and Andrew Pascal, both experienced business leaders with deep connections to the real estate and hospitality industries.
Andrew Pascal is the CEO and co-founder of PlayStudios, an online gaming and gambling company. He previously served as President and COO of Wynn Las Vegas from 2003 to 2010, bringing years of experience in high-end resort and casino operations.
Mike Mixer is the chairman of Colliers International, a real estate and investment firm. He is also a co-founder and former managing director of the company’s Las Vegas office.
Their combined expertise suggests that the transformation of Bear’s Best will focus on premium services and exclusivity, catering to high-end clientele.
A Golf Course with a Legacy
Bear’s Best Las Vegas has long been recognized as one of the premier golf destinations in the region. It has received multiple awards and was named one of the best places to play by Golf Digest. The course was previously owned by Bear’s Best Las Vegas L.P., a Dallas-based company, which did not provide comments on the sale.
With the upcoming changes, Las Vegas golf enthusiasts have a limited time left to experience the course as a public facility before it transitions to a members-only club.

🏈 Las Vegas Submits Bid for Super Bowl 63, Competing with Other Cities

Las Vegas is positioned as a leading candidate to host Super Bowl 63 in 2029, marking a potential return of the NFL’s biggest game to Allegiant Stadium just five years after the city successfully hosted Super Bowl 58 in 2024.
Las Vegas and the Raiders Submit Proposal
The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) and the Raiders have submitted a letter of intent expressing interest in hosting Super Bowl 63 in 2029, as well as the 2030 or 2031 editions of the game. The letter was in response to the NFL reaching out to gauge interest in bringing the event back to Las Vegas within that timeframe.
According to Sports Business Journal, the league appears to be favoring 2029 for a return to Allegiant Stadium. This would result in a five-year turnaround between Super Bowls, a rapid repeat hosting cycle that highlights the city’s growing reputation as a premier destination for major sporting events.
Super Bowl Selection Process and Timeline
The NFL traditionally announces Super Bowl host cities four years in advance, meaning that if Las Vegas is awarded Super Bowl 63, an official announcement could come as early as 2025.
Other markets are also interested in securing future Super Bowls, but Las Vegas’ performance as a first-time host in 2024 has made a strong impression on the league. Following Super Bowl 58, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell praised the city’s ability to host a world-class event, further fueling speculation that the league is eager to return.
Las Vegas Becoming an NFL Hotspot
Allegiant Stadium is now considered one of the NFL’s top-tier venues for hosting marquee events, alongside SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. Both stadiums are viewed as premier locations, with the NFL reportedly looking to rotate Super Bowls between these cities regularly.
SoFi Stadium, home to the Los Angeles Rams and Chargers, hosted Super Bowl 56 in 2022 and is already set to host Super Bowl 61 in 2027, demonstrating the league’s willingness to return to select locations on a shorter cycle.
If awarded Super Bowl 63, Las Vegas would become the 12th metro area to host multiple Super Bowls, joining cities like Miami, New Orleans, Phoenix, Los Angeles, and Houston.
Other Cities Still in the Running
While Las Vegas is a strong contender, the NFL has emphasized that multiple cities are interested in hosting Super Bowl 63 and beyond. The league has yet to finalize its decision, with other markets potentially competing for the event.
If selected, Las Vegas would further solidify itself as one of the premier destinations for high-profile sporting events, adding another major milestone to the city’s growing sports legacy.

President Donald Trump spent Tuesday at his Florida residence, Mar-a-Lago, where he was set to sign new executive orders while also featuring in a prime-time interview alongside Elon Musk. The interview, conducted by Fox News’ Sean Hannity, marks the first joint appearance between Trump and Musk since the latter was appointed head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Trump's Executive Actions and Priorities
The White House did not immediately release details on the executive orders being signed at Mar-a-Lago. However, during the first weeks of Trump’s second term, he has used executive authority to advance policies on border security, environmental regulations, and transgender rights. These actions reflect his aggressive policy agenda, implemented through executive orders rather than congressional legislation.
While Trump worked from his Florida home, he also spent part of Tuesday at his golf club in West Palm Beach, continuing his routine of conducting presidential business from outside Washington, D.C.
Trump and Musk’s First Joint TV Interview
The Fox News interview featuring Trump and Musk was pre-recorded on Friday at the White House and is set to air in prime time on Tuesday night. The discussion focuses on Musk’s role leading the administration’s efforts to cut federal spending and reduce the size of the federal workforce.
Musk has faced strong opposition from Democrats in Congress, particularly for his approach to downsizing government agencies and eliminating foreign aid programs. He has defended his cost-cutting measures, arguing that the federal bureaucracy needs significant restructuring.
During the interview, Musk addressed his changing political perception, noting that he was once well-liked by liberals but has since fallen out of favor due to his work in Trump’s administration. The segment also revisits Musk’s recent White House meeting with Trump, where both defended their fiscal policies and emphasized the need for government efficiency reforms.
Mar-a-Lago Hosts Conservative Awards Program
Later in the evening, Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort served as the venue for an awards program hosted by America’s Future, a conservative organization led by Mike Flynn. The group advocates for individual rights, American traditions, and limited government.
The ceremony honored members of the U.S. military, with awards presented to representatives from the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, and Space Force. The event featured a poolside reception, musical performances, and a formal dinner in Mar-a-Lago’s Grand Ballroom.
The evening’s lineup included appearances by Russell Brand, Ted Nugent, and Mike Tyson, with additional award presentations expected throughout the night. It remains unclear whether Trump himself participated in the ceremony.
Las Vegas Connection and Broader Implications
Trump’s decision to host official business and political events at Mar-a-Lago continues his pattern of using his private properties for government functions. As he navigates his second term, his alliance with Musk and conservative leaders signals a broader push for policy changes that emphasize government downsizing and ideological realignment.

🚝 LVCVA Plans $12M in Upgrades to Keep Las Vegas Monorail Running Until 2035

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) is planning a $12 million investment to keep the Las Vegas Monorail operational until at least 2035, ensuring the aging transit system remains a viable transportation option for the city’s growing tourism and convention industry.
Extending the Monorail’s Service Life
Originally built for $650 million and opened in 2004, the 3.9-mile monorail system runs from MGM Grand in the south to Westgate in the north, serving key areas along the Las Vegas Strip. The LVCVA purchased the struggling transit system in 2020 for $24 million, with initial expectations that it would need to be retired by 2030. However, after hiring an outside firm to assess its infrastructure, officials now believe the system can remain functional for at least another decade with strategic upgrades.
The planned improvements include:
Replacing the train control system to enhance tracking and operational efficiency, costing between $6 million and $8 million.
Upgrading ticket vending machines and implementing a cashless, ticketless payment system.
Monorail’s Role in Las Vegas’ Growing Transportation Network
The monorail plays a critical role in moving visitors during major events such as conventions and the Las Vegas Grand Prix. Additionally, it will be incorporated into the transportation plan for the new $1.75 billion Athletics MLB ballpark, set to open in 2028 on the former Tropicana site. The stadium, located across from the MGM Grand station, will have a 33,000-fan capacity, making efficient public transit essential for game days and large-scale events.
Increasing Ridership and Positive Cash Flow
Since taking over the monorail, the LVCVA has worked to improve its financial performance, integrating it more effectively with Las Vegas Convention Center events and boosting marketing efforts. Ridership has increased each year outside of the pandemic-impacted 2021, and the system has been operating at a positive cash flow.
With the structural components of the system in good condition, LVCVA officials believe that continued maintenance and upgrades will ensure reliable service through 2035, while still allowing flexibility to adapt to future transit developments.
The Future of the Monorail and the Vegas Loop
Las Vegas is also expanding its underground transit network, with Elon Musk’s Boring Company developing the Vegas Loop, a 68-mile tunnel system with 104 planned stations connecting the Strip, downtown, and other key destinations.
While the Vegas Loop is expected to eventually surpass the monorail in efficiency and coverage, LVCVA officials stress that the monorail remains necessary in the short term. With 6 million annual riders, removing the system prematurely would significantly increase road congestion along the Strip.
For now, the LVCVA is committed to keeping the monorail operational until it is no longer financially or logistically viable, ensuring visitors and residents continue to have multiple transportation options.
